What services do you offer?
I offer individual counselling services to adults (over the age of 18) for a variety of mental health concerns including: anxiety, depression, grief, trauma-related issues, separation/divorce, sport performance issues, and other life challenges.
What type of therapeutic approach do you use?
I believe in creating a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered. My approach integrates a blend of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am also trained to offer Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). Whether you’re experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, workplace stress, or personal challenges, I am here to help you develop practical tools to enhance your well-being.
How much are your services?
Individual counselling services are offered at a rate of $150 for a 50 minute session. For community presentations, please contact me to discuss rates.
Do you offer in-person counselling services?
All appointments are offered virtually. I wanted to make the counselling experience easier for clients. Virtual appointments allow clients to join sessions from the comfort of their own home.
Are virtual appointments secure?
I use a secure video platform (Jane App) that is easy to use and does not require any applications to be downloaded on your end. This platform is compliant with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). Clients will also have access to their own portal when they will be able to make, change, or cancel appointments. You will also be able to join your session from there as well as receive reminders about upcoming appointments.
Can I claim your services through my extended health care benefits (insurance) through my place of employment?
Yes. Most extended health care plans cover mental health counselling services offered by registered social workers. Please reach out to your insurance provider before booking an appointment to see if the service is covered.
Can you bill my insurance company directly?
Yes. I can bill some insurance companies directly for services (see list below). You would only need to pay the deductible at the time of your appointment. This saves you the trouble of having to pay upfront for services and then submitting paperwork to your insurance provider to be reimbursed.
What insurance companies can you directly bill?
I can directly bill a number of major insurance companies on your behalf. If not listed below, please contact me to see if I can help.
- The Public Service Health Care Plan
- Blue Cross
- CanadaLife
- Manulife
- Desjardins
- ClaimSecure
- IA Financial Group
- Johnson
Can you see clients outside of Ontario?
I currently can see clients virtually in Ontario and Nova Scotia. Mental health professionals (e.g., social workers, psychologists, etc.) are only allowed to see clients in the province in which they are registered. As I am registered in Ontario and Nova Scotia I can virtually meet with clients anywhere in those provinces but not in any other province or country.
